Ford Escort Mk2 1600 Sport. RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. Nova declaration has been done and we will complete all the Uk registration paperwork in the new owners name. This one is a very solid car tidy car which starts runs and drives.

 

Body - Export spec 1600 Sport shell with extra strengthening similar to our RS models. Good original inner wings, strut tops, sills, arches, floors, boot wells. Undersealed underneath but you can still see the definition of all the floor. No signs of any nasty patches  Looks a very good shell. Paintwork is very nice. Really good looking old car. Not a show winner but very presentable and tidy.Evidence of a bit filler in lower passenger side rear quarter and bottom of passenger side wing

 

Mechanics - Good 1600 crossflow which starts no problem. .Standard 4 speed box and running gear. Car starts runs and  drives quite well for a 40 odd year old Escort. Brakes and clutch are good. Carb may need a little adjustment due to the different climate. 

 

Interior - Seats have been retrimmed. Tidy enough job but not original. Good door cards, carpet and headlining. Aftermarket steering wheel. 

 

Wheels - Standard deep dish afriucan sport steels with 175 / 70 / 13 Tyres
