Ford Escort Mk1 RS2000 replica. This car was built a long time ago using all the bits from a rotten MK2 RS2000.  Its a good useable car but by no means a show winner. Mechanically is very well sorted and drives really well. Tax and MOT exempt drive it away. I dont think you could build this car for the asking price these days. Good donors are not cheap and all the bits are very expensive and also difficult to find. 

 

Body - Started life as a base model. Has mexico wings fitted and strut top strengthening plates. Paintwork is perfectly useable but it has picked up a few marks and a couple of minor dings over the years. Mexico decal kit fitted. Underneath the shell is pretty solid having only ever had repairs on front floors over the years. One side is a patch which is solid but not the best. The other side looks a proper repair. Overall a pretty good shell. Basically if you want a good useable car its fine as it is, if you want to take the car to the next level youd need to sort the front floor better and paint it.

 

Mechanics - MK2 RS2000 engine which runs rebuilt twin 40 webbers and was recently set up on a rolling road. The engine had new valve stem oil seals, head gasket, clutch. The type 89 5 speed gearbox was reconditioned. Alternator has been upgraded should you want to run spotlights.Alloy Radiator, Alloy Rs sump, Electric fan, 4 branch manifold, New master cylinder, new rear exhaust section, Burton rocker cover, RS2000 rear Axle with tramp bar brackets on it. tramp bar are not fitted as no brackets on the shell but they do come with the car. Capri front 

 

Interior - 6 dial dash fitted and all working apart from the rev counter. .RS steering wheel. Roll top recaro seats retrimmed 18 months ago as was the rear seat.Door cards look original but a little bit scruffy. Good carpet and headlining . Half roll cage

 

Wheels - 7" Superlites with 175/50/13 Dunlop tyres. 

 

This is a good useable little car which drives very well.
